Sassafras

Soooo, there is a conversation that Brileigh and I will have after I saw this picture. She is a "dazzler" for the K and K Dance studio in the QC. So, this is from left to right - Brileigh, Kylee and Emily. Kylee is a good friend of ours and Brileigh's dance teacher.

The Dazzlers compete in competitions all over and it has been great for her to expand her talents and have a great time as well. Our little Saige is shy when you meet her, just at first but when she steps on the stage - 300 or 3000 or at Disneyland - no problem, she is all business and ready to go.

She is too cute, pretty and definatley sassy. I was wanting boy first because I wanted to be sure if I issued a take care of that dude order, he'd protect his sister at all costs...BUT this sweet little thing is going to take out boys without ANY problem! LOVE HER!

...BUT WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A MODESTY TALK WHEN I GET HOME!!! Thanks Ky!

Some of our summer fun

What up?!! What Up?!!! So, this will be one of a few more I'm sure, but this was the beach and my sandy son - Dalton, but he has a few nicknames - one prominent one is Dalt at least lately Charai, Brileigh and Bitty have been calling him that, but to me it's pretty much always Peanut. There is always a process especially with the Allen side, but I like it cuz the 311 bassist is P-Nut and it makes me laugh.

We had a trip where we went to Cedar City for the Davis family reunion and after that we went to Newport and hit the beach for 3 days solid - it was AWESOME! This is Dalton as the sand monster - the funniest thing is when Charai told him to go into the ocean and rinse his swimsuit he went into the ocean about knee high, dropped trau and started splashing himself...hey whatever works! He is a great dude and is laid back more so than anyone I know and can switch gears to be the craziest dude in the room.

He's awesome and likes to punk rock out with Dad!

September 11th

So, today has been the 7th year anniversary of the attacks on Sept. 11th. It occurred to me that I have never - ever - wrote anything down about it. I have told the story numerous times but now - while seeing all of the videos and specials today thought that it freshened up quite a bite to write down what happened with us during that time.

I had just graduated from ASU and had taken a job with Shaw Industries. Before heading into the field there is a 3 to 4 month training in Dalton, GA. We arrived early in June and had hung out in the south until the first part of September. Charai's parents came out and took back Brileigh and Charai on the 1st day of September and went back to AZ. We had a townhouse in Tucson, but we were waiting to make move until I got back from GA.

The training was pretty much over at that point, just a few odds and ends to finish up with. So everyday was pretty laid back - Shaw had a design center that we went and studied our line in, but we mostly kicked it, napped in the area rugs and called home from the phones in there! LOL.

I was done and ready to leave on September 11th, my awesome Dad was going to fly to Nashville and I was going to pick him up and we were going to chase the sun west and get home - fast. We always had meetings at 8am at our training office. At that point, those of us that were in the program ready to leave would go do what we needed and then meet at the design center. That morning I went to the post office and went back to our apartment.

The truly weird thing was that I hardly ever listened to the radio at that time - I was in my Punk phase and if it wasn't a CD of some band on Fat Wreck Chords or Epitaph I wasn't listening to it. BUT, that day I was not only listening to the radio but I was listening to 2 of the quirkest dudes on the dial. They started talking about how one of the World Trade Center towers was hit by a plane. I parked the car and bolted into the apartment and I saw the second plane hit. Just absolute desparation and shock coursed through my body - I was sick.

When I went back to the training center, I told them what happened we started looking online and we saw all the pictures. We went to the TV room watched for a while and went and donated blood. The next few days were a whilwind, my family was thousands of miles away and I was missing them bad. I did hang with Rob and Dee Holt. That was a blessing to be with them.

I left GA on the 12th of September and made it to OK that night...saw the memorial there and almost made it to TX. I was home on the 13th at about dinner time. Brileigh took her first steps that night about 9 of them to me sitting on the floor. For the first time in days I was peaceful and happy.

***Side note, Charai's Uncles are all great guys and truly men of God who honor and respect their priesthood. One of her Uncle's - John Bradshaw was in Boston for business at that week and was supposed to be in the WTC September 11th but felt impressed to head home. He did just that and was protected.

greetings and salutations!

this is one of a few phrases that we have kept alive and strong at work - it usually means someone is heading to stall 2 for a while. like a code - when it is said it is always in a dignified tone - like announcing a king or president. i have failed at staying consistent on my blog - which is unfortunately consistent for me. i gotta get Charai to start doing this too - she has the kids and sees some of the most hilarious things through the day.

we had a great summer - we had a wonderful time at the Davis family reunion. saw family, laughed and cried, talked about my sweet shramma (that 's what we called my Grandma Davis), golfed - not to well and played softball (c'mon - this is a Davis reunion - gotta play ball). went to te beach with the Allen, Owens and Silsby clans - dude...sweet. and had time to just hang out - no dance classes or competitions, no t-ball (that is not as good though), just us. i will get some pictures and get them posted - very soon...but i wont tell ya when, just come check it out or call.

Lottie Laine

Here is a new one - it's kind of old but it is really cute - it's another one from Min. She has a really good eye. The last two babies (Bitty and Lottie) have been blessed at home, it was kind of weird at first but we had such a wonderful experience being at home with family AND friends - which usually does not happen when you bless the babies at church. This last time I recorded the whole blessing from my phone - I may post it up but right now Charai is not down with it - so enjoy this beautiful picture.

Bitty Cent

Saturday in the Park - Railynn had her 2nd birthday this past Saturday and we had pizza and cake and played. Zack and I were throwing the ball and bitty wanted in on the action. Mindy had her camera and got this of him - he is such a handsome dude.

more Miss Lottie

Charai's good friend came over today and as a gift took a few pictures of Lottie and here are a couple of my favorite.

It is funny - it has been 7 years since we had a little girl and these brain squeezers (what my Dad calls these head bands) still annoy me. They are always falling down and it gets worse as they move more. She is really cute though and these pictures are neat - I cannot wait for Linz to come and take more pictures of our new bundle.

BABY O!

Another awesome picture that Ninny did. This is Owen our cool mini British dude. He is such a crack up - Davis is fascinated by him and every time I get on the computer he wants to see BABY O - you gotta kinda scream/yell it as you say it.

SAIGE-A-RIFIC

Love this picture! Just wanted to post it up. Dancer of ever.

They just had a dance competition with Benji from "So you think you can dance" it was a great time - they did well. Brileigh is in a troop called the Dazzlers with K & K Dance Company. The main thing is that she loves it. She is awesome.

Allen Dudes

Look - there are a lot of things I am going to say about this picture - first is the amazing Linz! My little sister that never EVER ceases to amaze me. I love her so much - she is a true friend and an utter inspiration to me - every day. I LOVE YOU! Or like McKay would scream I LOOOOOTH YOOOOOUUUU!!!!!!

My Bro. Todd - Love that guy he is an inspiring dude to be with and around and even look at from a distance - figuratively speaking. We are sooo alike and sooo different too. I think in a lot of things - even the most important ones we are the same and I know that I strive to be the best I can because of his example. Todd is a leader and he is a GREAT person who really cares about people - especially the ones he is close to. I know that everyone associates him with softball - but I am better! Love ya bud.

My Dad - truly a Christlike man who cares more than anyone that I know. It was funny - about 5 and a half years ago when we blessed Dalton he came down to Tucson and he bore his testimony and my good buddy Rick told me later that day - "Your Dad's testimony - whoa - GA dude and I am serious" BUT that is my Dad his rock and foundation is on his testimony and knowledge of Christ - He fears God and loves him as well. He is my greatest example - he is a great friend but has always been more than that to me - he has been my Father. He has never tried to be buddy buddy - but we are - he has never tried to be cool around us - but he is beyond cool. He has always been there for us no matter what. I have seen him chuck footballs at kids that tried to hurt my sister, I have seen him jump fences with a single bound to get us a foul ball. He has been there in the late night/early morning to hear me out or check in. Never to tired to complete a sentence or concerned for his sleep - even if our conversation was brief. I love you Dad! You are the BEST.

Mom - you are the Bomb and when Linz gets me a picture - I am gonna drop a big bomb on the internet about you!

More baby ones

Dalty and his baby sister.

Brilah and her new baby sister.

Just got these from the fabulous Char Holt - the inspiration for our little Lotties name. The kids - ALL of them - are all about their new baby. Davis is the biggest crack up - he laughs the WHOLE time! Brileigh is just beyond happy al the time and Dalton is really protective of her. It is soooooo cute.

Peanut

Dalton is such a sweet guy - he really is - at Brileigh's dance competitions he sits ALL day and he does a great job. He likes to jump off stuff and does it quite well - we need to get him a skateboard so he can work on jumping off stuff with that! He is ultra concerned with the feelings of all around him - he has a HUGE circle and loves to let people in all the time.

He told Charai a couple of weeks ago that "she is the most beautiful of ALL the ladies in the world" - that's right he said ladies - he continued " well, you and Nan and Grandma are the most beautiful of all the ladies in the world!"

More Lottie

Look at those lips. She is an angel!

I swear she is winking!

This is a good shot for her coloring. Her hair is the darkest that any of our kids have had as well as her eyes, but she is an Allen and that usually equals a baba with blonde hair and blue eyes. Everyone knows that I want a dark hair and dark eye girl, so we shall see.

Miss Sassafras

CRAZY FACE! She's cute though! Love this girl. We brought Lottie home tonight - it was the first time that the kids saw their baby sister, they were all so excite and loved every second of her - they are great kids and we are blessed to have them sent to us from heaven.

More pictures

Bitty - I am trying to get his nickname to Bitty Cent, Charai isn't going for it as much as I am but what can you do? Throw it out on the internet and get a ton of people calling him Bitty Cent. He is about the cutest dude under 3 years old. This is jammy time - ready for bed.

Charlotte Laine Allen

We are going to call her Lottie but her correct title is above. She was born at 7:14pm - she was 8lbs and 6oz and she was 20.5 inches long.

She is very cute too,

Lottie is HERE!

SO - at 7am we arrived at Banner Gateway hospital - it was an awesome and brand new building. Went on the pitosin at 9am. She arrived shortly after 7pm - she is gorgeous and has dark hair and her eyes seem darker that our other kids had! I just tried to upload pictures but had a bit of a problem - more to come soon! One teaser for ya'll!
